Booty Class

The Booty Class sessions offered at O'Wellness aim to build a strong, shapely look by targeting the lower-body muscles. This class actively works the glute, leg and core areas and increases both strength and endurance through a combination of functional and isolation movements. Adaptable to different levels, it offers an effective and focused training experience.

Booty Class is a 45-minute, high-frequency strength-shaping class that isolates the glute (gluteus maximus, medius, minimus) and hamstring muscles.

The O’Wellness booty class format has the following structure: 8 minutes of dynamic activation (glute activation with bands, fire hydrant, monster walk), a 30-minute strength block with progressive loading (hip thrust, glute bridge variations, single-leg work, RDL, weighted lunge), and a 7-minute finisher (high-rep booty burnout). Each session uses at least 3 different pieces of exercise equipment: mini band, dumbbell, kettlebell and barbell (for intermediate-advanced participants).

Glute training is not only aesthetic but also a functional need: weak glutes are a root cause of lower back pain, knee pain and postural problems. Members who attend regularly twice a week have reported noticeable strength gains and changes in body measurements within 6–8 weeks.

Class flow

DurationSection
8 minGlute activation with band: fire hydrant, monster walk, glute bridge
30 minProgressive strength block: hip thrust, RDL, single-leg work, weighted lunge
7 minFinisher: high-rep burnout and hip stretch

For first-timers

  • Place the mini band above the knees, not at hip level; slipping spoils the activation.
  • In the hip thrust, tuck your chin toward your chest and close your ribs; don't over-arch your lower back.
  • For the first two weeks, settle the technique with a light load; 'feeling' the glutes comes before load.

Where does it fit in the weekly programme?

It works well in the same week as Total Body and Crunch & Core; Mobility & Stretching is recommended the following day. For current times, see the weekly schedule page, and for all formats, see group classes page.
